Terms and conditions

  1. The Bristol UX Mentoring scheme is operated by Bristol Usability Group CIC Ltd.
  2. People looking for mentoring (aka learners) should use the sign up form to register interest.
  3. People offering to provide mentoring advice (aka mentors) should use the sign up form to register interest.
  4. There is a limited number of places available to learners to receive mentoring.
  5. There is a limited number of places available for mentors to provide mentoring.
  6. It is possible to be both a learner and a mentor.
  7. Applying to be a learner or a mentor does not guarantee you will be successfully enrolled in the scheme.
  8. Applications are particularly welcomed from people whose principal domestic residence is in Bristol, Bath or the wider reaches of Somerset, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire. If you don’t live in these areas, you can still apply.
  9. Successful learners will receive a maximum of three mentoring sessions to be taken, once a month, sometime before 31 March 2024.
  10. Taking part in a mentoring session where learners and mentors meet up is entirely at your own risk. If you have any doubts about this, don’t take part.
  11. Sessions should take place at a location to be agreed between the mentor and learner. (This could be via video-conference or even telephone).
  12. Sessions should last no less than 30 minutes and no more than 60 minutes.
  13. Mentors can claim session expenses for drinks and/or food (for both mentor and learner), for each session, up to a maximum of £10 per session, using an expenses form.
  14. Expenses for sessions conducted after the end of the scheme (31 March 2024) will not be covered, unless at the discretion of Bristol Usability Group CIC.
  15. No other expenses (e.g. travel, phone costs) are covered.
  16. There is no fee for mentors.
